The 2 homes damaged in the Mount Waverley construction site collapse is still unsafe. The 2 townhouses were left on the edge of the deep pit after the site collapsed and 3 months after the incident occured, the homes are still unliveable.

In July a family of 4 as well as a group of students had to be removed from their homes when the site collapsed. It was being excavated for the construction of a 3 storey building. At the time heavy rain was blamed for the incident but since then The Victorian Building Authority said the collapse could have been prevented if all building regulations were adhered to.
