Tasmanian Construction Boom Needs Thousands More Workers

While construction is contracting in some states, Tasmania’s construction boom rolls on. And now the Master Builders Association is saying that thousands of interstate workers may be needed to help maintain productivity in the state’s construction sector.

The state has a growing number of construction projects, many of them government funded which is expected to outstrip local labour supply.

Master Builders believe as many as 4000 interstate workers may be needed to fill the gaps.

The good news is that workers who are already in possession of a Construction Safety White Card, will not need to redo the training if they plan on moving to Tasmania to help fill shortages.
