Russian Railway President, Vladimir Yakunin  wants to build a road that would connect London to New York, running across Russia.

Between the western shores of Alaska and the northeastern tip of Russia, the Bering Strait is narrow enough to drive across in an hour if there were a tunnel beneath the sea – this is exactly what Russia wants to build.

The road would run from New York to London through Canada, Alaska, Russia, and continental Europe. Construction of such a road would be no easy task with the Bering Strait be one of the most unforgiving environments in the world.
