Cladding Situation Getting Out of Hand



A leader in the strata community in Australia has spoken out against the mounting concerns about combustible cladding in large scale apartment complexes.

Strata Community Australia Chief Executive Officer Ken Henshaw described the situation as “disgraceful” and said a federal response to the problem is needed.

Reports reveal that as many as 2500 high rise buildings in Sydney and half the high rise towers in Melbourne could contain flammable and non-compliant cladding imported from China.

Although we are aware of the problem in Melbourne and Sydney, its likely the true extent of the problem nationally is much greater and widespread than we realise.
